ISWC ❤

The ISWC conference was conducted on 17th and 18th of October 2022.

It was a very beautiful moment. All the audience from grade 9 had enjoyed the meeting a lot.

Everyone was happy to meet new people and were really happy to get new knowledge.

 

Self Directed Learning.

Today we had a normal assembly and these are the tips that out TOD gave us for a lifelong learning.

 ❤There are 8 methods of becoming a Self Directed Learner.

1. Set a personal goal.

This goal will keep you going forward in your life.\

2. Assess your learning.

If you don't know how much you've done so far, you will feel as if your hardwork has all gone in vain.

3. Make your learning modality.

Make yourself know that you've done good so far and give yourself a small reward.

4. Challenge yourself.

Try facing all the problems all by yourself. Don't keep your challenges saying that you are not able to do it.

5. Cultivate intrinsic motivation.

It is only you who can motivate yourself. No other can do it for you. Therefore, motivate yourself.

6. Create something out of what you have learnt.

Try making a song, a rap or some posters about what you have learnt.

7. Make a network of learning colleagues.

Don't make a group of friend just to eat. Try making a group where all of you will be studying together.

8. Share your learnings.

Do not keep all that you have studied with you only, share it with your friends and others as well.

Traumatizing Journey

It was during one of the frosty day on 5^th December. It was on my birthday. I was just too lazy to do anything and suddenly my father dashed into my room with something that looked like a paper in his hand. I wondered what it was. After a second, my mother also rushed in with so many new dresses.

Both of them then started singing the Happy Birthday song and handed me an airline ticket that my dad was holding. It was to Egypt. I was really exuberant. Since the departure was at 9 am, we had to rush and my parents dropped me till the airport.

I was in Egypt with my friends within 6 hours. We were so tired and hence we had to take rest the whole day. The next day, we tried so many new dishes and roamed a lot. We tool so many pictures infront of the Pyramids and I was really eager to put those pictures in my album and show it to my parents.

It was so much fun that we almost forgot that a week had passed and was time to go back home.

I had done all of the job and got inside the plane. Just as I was about to sit on my seat, there was blood stain on it so I sat on the seat next to mine. As we were travelling, I felt as if I smelt smoke and suddenly there was a fire coming from the engine.

Everyone was panicking and running here and there. I got so scared and didn’t know what to do. So I closed my eyes very tightly. I could hear someone calling me from the back and when I opened my eyes;

It was only a dream.

Summer Vacation.

 

"Vacation is what you need when you can no longer take what you've been taking" -Earl Wilson. Getting a short vacation after 5 months staying inside the school was really good. Though it was only for 10 days, it was enough to refresh my mind and give me motivations to be the best in the second term of the academic session. 

Though it was only a vacation where I was supposed to have fun and take break for a while, I tried to make it effective by completing a book, watching anime that had a good moral and had a good time to spending with my family. 

The book that I read was Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern. The story was about two bestfriends who fell in love with one another but their destiny was different. Still the two lovers got to be together at the end. 

The anime was titled, The Millionaire Detective. It showed that money can do anything but knowing what other's are feeling is more important.  “You believe everything can be solved with money, and don't care about other people's feelings". 

The vacation ended happily with my assignments being completed and coming back to my second home safe and sound.

Expository Essay

 Why do teenagers feel stressed?

Everyone knows that struggling is a part of life and it is inevitable. Amongst the age group, the teenagers are the one with the most stresses. The teenagers are mainly stressed about their studies, peer pressure and addiction to phones. 

The students were found to be really worried about their studies. It was noticed that if they don't do well in one subject, they'll be feeling really low. In a research carried out by the Ministry of Education, it was found that 90% of the students were trying their best to make their future wonderful. They are also being pressurized by their friends in a bad way.

The adolescents were also worried as they were being manipulated by their friends. The offenders would make the victims to abuse drugs and other substances. In a report presented by the Bhutan Youth Development Fund,2014, it was proven that 45% of the youths are always victims of peer pressure. As a result of this, the young kids are also found getting addicted to the mobile phone.

 Most of the kids are always found using their phones whole night. With the advancement of online games and different applications, the teenagers are using their phones all the time. In an investigation done by the Oxford University,2019, it was found that 85% of the students were addicted to their phones and that they couldn't spend an hour also without using their mobile. Even in Bhutan, 70% of the college students would always skip their classes and would be found playing games in their phones.

My favourite person

 In the world, there are billions of people but mot everyone is someone's favourite person. You have to earn the respect to their favourite person. To have a favourite person literally means to have someone with whom you can share all your nonsense. I have a boy bestfriend whom I consider to be my favourite person as he is really good looking, very supportive and hardworking.

To have a charming friend gives a very cool vibe. My bestfriend has long eyelashes with light brown eyes with skin like caramel. Imagine having a tall and handsome boy to have by your side wherever you go. Having someone tall to hold the umbrella for you. He's got a smile that can flutter the heart of many people. Someone not only good looking but also there for you whenever you need them.

To have your favourite person's shoulder instead of a pillow when you're blue gives a very wonderful feeling. When he shows me his wide cute smile, it automatically acts as a key for a bundle of my problems. When he sings with his sore throat, it still sounds like melody to my ears. Even when he scolds me, it sounds so much like lullaby. He is always a shadow in whatever I do. He is very supportive as well as hardworking.

"Hardwork is the key to success." - anonymous. He was able to prove that if we try our best, we can score high in exams by doing all the chores as well. If you go to his place, you'll see him wearing a white apron, a cap, little round glasses and 

#How I spent my vacation.

Getting a vacation after a long school year, it felt really good. We had to stay as a very sincere and a good student while staying in the school thinking to do all the stuffs you wanted to by going home. Had to wake up early thinking to sleep as much as you wanted after reaching home.

Finally after reaching, I did all the things I couldn't do back at school. Firstly, I was allowed to wake a bit late and eat junks and play phone. But apart from being just too free, I was helping my sisters as well. I had to do the house chores as well. 

During the month of December, I went back to my home town and stayed there for a fortnight. When I was back there with my parents, it felt really warm and when I shared the bed with my mother, it felt just like I was sleeping near the fire like how cats do. The four of us, me, my parents and my younger brother used to have our meals together and it felt really good. 

Me and my brother didn't fight much during this vacation because it had been long since we had been together. To a plus point, my brother looks just like my elder brother so he couldn't put effort to fight as well. 

During the month of January and February, it was really boring because we were under lockdown and we weren't allowed to go anywhere. At the end of the month, I joined a course for class 10 which was organized by VTOB which is a non-government organization.

During the month of March, it was really exciting as it was my birth month. I was being really impatient as my birthday was nearing. And it was finally the time to go to school. Finally the time to be with my mates.
